The Common Admission Test 2019 (CAT 2019), the score of which is used for MBA courses, will be conducted on November 24 this year. The exam, conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will be held in two sessions.

IIM Kozhikode will organise the CAT 2019 entrance exam. The detailed notification will be out on July 28.

CAT 2019 Convener Prof Shubhasis Dey said in a statement issued by IIM-K that registration process for CAT 2019 entrance exam will open on August 7 and close on September 18.

The Admit Card for CAT 2019 will be released on October 23. The CAT 2019 website will go live on July 28.

The CAT is an entrance exam for admission to management courses in the IIMs and other top MBA colleges in the country. The test is conducted once a year by one of the IIMs on rotation basis.

CAT 2019 will be conducted in test centres spread across approximately 156 cities. Candidates have the option to select four test cities in order of preference.

Caandidates can know their assigned cities and centres only after the last date of the registration process, that is, September 28.

Candidates must pay the registration fee online via credit cards, debit cards and net banking.

CAT 2019 will be 180 minutes long. There are three sections in the exam―Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability.

Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they will not be allowed to switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section.

The CAT website will contain a section on Frequently Asked Questions that addresses some of the commonly asked queries.

Candidates may also check out the format of the test which will be available on the CAT website from October 16.
