The BJP on Friday took on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benarjee over law and order situation in the state and accused her of violating country's secular fabric.

"Police officers in Malda on camera said that instruction came from top that they should not fire at the mob since they are minorities. Mamata Ji, isn't this a violation of India's basic secular fabric?" BJP secretary and co-incharge of West Bengal Siddharth Nath Singh said at a press conference.

"One common thread in your government's approach is of 'vote bank' politics. Is your state policy only for 28 per cent voters," he asked.

Putting 10 questions in front of Mamata Banerjee, the BJP leader sought to know why Trinamool Congress workers are always found involved in criminal activities in the state.

"Why from Khagragadh to Birbhum to Malda those involved in bomb making, fake currency, rioting and women abuse are all TMC workers or supporters," he asked, also seeking an explanation of whether her state policy is of 'Sabka saath-Sabka vikas' or 'ek ka saath-ek ka vikas'.

"If not, then why was permission for Durga Visarjan not given a day before Muharram?" he said.
