A magistrate court in Angamaly in Ernakulam district on Tuesday accepted the subsidiary charge-sheet submitted in the February 17 actress attack case naming actor Dileep as the eighth accused.

The special investigation team (SIT) submitted the 1,500-page charge-sheet against five persons, including Dileep, at the judicial magistrate court on November 22.

The court had completed examining the charge-sheet Monday, including the charges against the accused and statements of the witnesses.

Earlier, Dileep had approached the court, alleging that the police had leaked information from the charge-sheet to the media.

Dileep's former wife and Malayalam actress Manju Warrier had been named as a witness in the case.

Dileep had been slapped with a conspiracy charge in the case. According to police, the popular Malayalam actor had hatched the conspiracy with main accused Pulsar Suni to abduct and assault the actress in a moving car and videotape the crime. The actor was granted bail by the Kerala High Court on October 3, 85 days after his arrest.

The police had claimed that Dileep developed a grudge against the actress for letting his former wife (Warrier) know about his alleged 'affair' with another actress.

The victim, who has also worked in Tamil and Telugu films, was abducted and assaulted inside her car for two hours on February 17 night.

Pulsar Suni was to be presented before the court on Tuesday by the police to seek extension for his remand period.
