Amitabh Bachchan, in the presence of dignitaries of the Shiv Sena, at the Grand Hyatt, Santa Cruz, released the teaser for the biopic on late Balasaheb Thackeray. Bachchan was escorted to the room, where he was welcomed by Sanjay Raut, the producer and writer of the film, followed by Uddhav Thackeray and his wife Rashmi .
Lead actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui bears a striking resemblance to Bal Thackeray in the film.
Raut was very emotional and said that he became whatever he was because of Balasaheb. His story should be told and it was a huge responsibility.
Bachchan mentioned that Balasaheb always treated him like family.
