Enforcement Directorate (ED) sent Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut a second summons, asking him to appear before them on July 1 in connection with the Patra Chawl land scam case.

The new summons comes after Raut sought more time to appear before the ED. The ED initially summoned Raut on June 28. Raut's lawyer, on Tuesday, had submitted a letter seeking an extension to the ED officials.

Raut said the summons was a "conspiracy" to derail him amid the ongoing political crisis in the Shiv Sena.

Raut said, "The moment I am free, I will go to the ED. I am a lawmaker. I know the law. Even if the law implementing agencies are working in a wrong way, I am a law-abiding person."

Last week, when the rebellion began in the Shiv Sena, Maharashtra minister Anil Parab had appeared before the ED for questioning in a money laundering case registered against him.
