Kota, Nov 6 (PTI) Six girls were rescued from forced prostitution after police busted a human trafficking racket in Rajasthan's Bhawanimandi police station area, officials said on Friday, adding that five people, including three women, have been arrested.
According to police, forensic reports on four of the rescued revealed mixed male DNA and forensic experts recovered incriminating materials, including hundreds of condoms, from the scene.
The operation was initiated after Jhalawar Superintendent of Police Amit Bhudaniya received a confidential complaint alleging that families residing in specific Bacchada community settlements within Bhaanwmandi were forcibly pushing their own minor daughters into prostitution, trading them to outsiders for monetary gain.
Acting on the sensitivity of the inputs, a special investigation team was formed under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Ayush Kshrotriya, which utilised spy cameras and decoy operations to gather digital evidence.
The surveillance and digital evidence confirmed that minors were being subjected to immoral trafficking, prompting the deployment of over 100 police personnel, including female officers in civil dress, who executed simultaneous raids across identified spots on Tuesday.
Speaking to media persons on Friday, the SP said the police successfully rescued six girls aged between 12 and 17 during the targeted raids and registered a suo motu case under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences(POCSO) Act, the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, and the IT Act.
Forensic experts from the mobile science laboratory recovered incriminating materials, including hundreds of condoms, from the scene while documenting the premises through photography and videography.
Subsequent medical examinations, technical evaluations, and forensic evidence confirmed that five of the rescued minors were repeatedly subjected to sexual exploitation, while two of the victims were found to be suffering from sexually transmitted diseases(STDs) and were immediately put on necessary medication and specialised treatment.
The rescued children were presented before the Child Welfare Committee and subsequently shifted to a shelter home for rehabilitation, counselling, and long-term care.
Besides, police also arrested five primary suspects, including close relatives, family members, and neighbours identified as Heera Bai, 34, Dhapu Bai, 35, Rodi Bai, 32, Chhanmal, 48, andPappu, 22, who were produced before the court and remanded to three days of police custody for interrogation.
The SP further said forensic samples collected during the investigation into the sexual abuse of all the victim minor girls tested positive for male DNA. Among them, the forensic reports of four of the girls revealed mixed male DNA.
The SP had written a demi-official letter to the Director of the FSL requesting that the report be provided promptly on a priority basis. In response, FSL Jaipur provided the report within 24 hours under the direction of Deputy Director Dr Rajesh Choudhary.
These findings serve as crucial scientific evidence in the investigation. The process of DNA profiling and matching will be implemented in the future once the accused individuals are identified.
