Kota (Raj) Nov. 3 (PTI) A 45-year-old Grade IV employee was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside the Kota divisional commissioner's office complex on Tuesday, with police suspecting it to be a case of suicide, officials said on Tuesday.

Ashfaq Ansari, a revenue department staffer working on deputation in the office of the additional divisional commissioner, was found dead in the ADC’s office area, though no suicide note was recovered from his possession, DSP Manish Sharma said.

Preliminary investigation indicated that Ansari wrapped his shirt around his neck and tightened it, leading to his death. The body was found near the restroom of a room that did not have a ceiling fan.

Police have handed over the body to the family members after a post-mortem and launched a probe to ascertain the exact cause of death.

According to Ansari’s family members, he returned home on Monday night after attending his brother-in-law's wedding in Bundi. Citing urgent pending work, he left home late at night and reached the DC office at around 2:30 am on Tuesday.

A sanitation worker opened the office at around 10 am on Tuesday and found Ansari's body in the ADC’s office area.
