New Delhi, Nov 2 (PTI) A 22-year-old man allegedly involved in an armed dacoity at a businessman's residence in the upscale Golf Links area of the national capital has been arrested from Bihar, an officer said on Monday.

The accused, Sushil Kumar, was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000. He was arrested from Madhubani on October 31 following an interstate operation by the crime branch.

The incident occurred on April 16, when seven to eight armed men stormed the residence of the 76-year-old liquor businessman at Golf Links.

"Armed with swords and other weapons, they assaulted and threatened family members before fleeing with cash and jewellery worth approximately Rs 30-35 lakh," a senior police officer said.

According to the police, Kumar, who had recently been employed as a domestic help at the house, allegedly conspired with the other accused and facilitated the dacoity.

A case was registered at Tughlak Road police station.

"While six other accused were arrested earlier, Kumar had been absconding. A non-bailable warrant was issued against him. A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for information leading to his arrest on October 22," the officer added.

The officer further said that following specific inputs and technical surveillance, the team tracked him down to Madhubani.

Police said the team faced difficulties in locating him due to the area's proximity to the Nepal border but eventually apprehended him near Ghoghardiha railway station. He was produced before a city court on November 1, the officer said.
