Gorakhpur (UP), Nov 1 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday assured a woman seeking financial assistance for her husband's surgery that the government would provide aid from the discretionary fund, officials said.

The woman approached the chief minister during a 'Janata Darshan' programme at the Gorakhnath temple here, seeking assistance for the treatment of her husband, who suffered a brain stroke.

Adityanath enquired about the treatment received by her husband so far, and assured her that financial constraints would not be allowed to come in the way of his treatment.

"Do not worry. We will ensure that no difficulty is faced in availing treatment. Financial assistance will also be provided from the discretionary fund," he said.

During the programme, the chief minister also directed officials to ensure that another woman suffering from an illness was admitted to a medical college for proper treatment.

Adityanath met around 150 people during the programme and listened to their grievances. He collected their applications and issued directions to officials concerned for the timely resolution of their problems.
