Jammu, Nov 1 (PTI) Ahead of the reopening of Darbar Move offices in Jammu on November 2, the Chief Minister's Office on Sunday reiterated Omar Abdullah's vision of an "inclusive" and "prosperous" Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to bring development to all areas and communities.

The capital city of Jammu and Kashmir moves from Srinagar to Jammu every year in the first week of November as part of the 150-year-old practice, known as Darbar Move, which was started by Dogra Maharaja Gulab Singh. The seat of government moves back to Srinagar in the first week of May.

"As offices reopen in Jammu tomorrow (Monday) following the Darbar Move, the year so far reflects a sustained focus on responsive, inclusive and people-centric governance across Jammu and Kashmir," the office of the chief minister posted on X.

The post said the chief minister has travelled extensively across J&K, reaching remote villages, towns and urban centres, interacting directly with people and listening to their concerns.

"These engagements have helped shape the Government’s priorities, with a strong emphasis on improving everyday life through better roads, safe drinking water, reliable power supply, environmental protection, quality healthcare, education, skill development, sports and modern public infrastructure," the post read.

It said several major initiatives reflect this development-focused approach.

"From the proposed modern solid waste management facility at Achan in Srinagar and a mega water supply scheme in Udhampur to new industrial estates across J&K, the development of Tawi Wonderland, the establishment of Unity Malls and the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir, the Government continues to advance projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure, expanding economic opportunities and improving public services," the office of the Chief Minister said.

It said that through sustained public outreach, regular field visits and a focus on addressing people's concerns, the chief minister continues to pursue the vision of an inclusive, progressive, prosperous and happy Jammu and Kashmir, where development reaches every region, and its benefits touch every section of society.
