Patna, Nov 1 (PTI) Delhi Police's Special Cell on Sunday issued a notice summoning a Bihar Congress functionary for questioning in connection with an FIR filed last year over a social media post, a party spokesperson said.

The person, whose mobile number is registered with the party's Bihar unit official X handle, has been directed to appear before the Counter Intelligence Unit of the Special Cell of Delhi Police at 11 am on November 5.

The notice, issued under Section 94 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), seeks the SIM card linked to the number, details of handsets in which it was used, and information about the authorised operators of the party's X handle.

The notice was pasted on a board at the Bihar Congress headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, here on Sunday, Bihar Congress spokesperson Asit Nath Tiwary said.

The police also sought a list of persons authorised to operate the handle between July 1 and December 31, 2025, along with any other relevant information, he said.

“Delhi Police served a notice at Sadaqat Ashram on Sunday, asking a Congress functionary to appear before its sleuths in Delhi on November 5 in connection with an investigation into a social media post. The matter is being examined by the party," Tiwary told PTI.

The notice was served in connection with an FIR registered at North Avenue Police Station in Delhi on September 13 last year under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
