New Delhi, Nov 5 (PTI) Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd’s consolidated net loss widened to Rs 376.41 crore in the September quarter of the current fiscal, on account of a shift in the festive season to the December quarter and investments in new businesses.
The company had posted a net loss of Rs 295.09 crore during the July-September period a year ago, a regulatory filing said on Thursday.
Its revenue from operations was up 2.44 per cent at Rs 2,030 crore in Q2 FY27, compared to Rs 1,981.66 crore in the year-ago period.
“Ebitda for the quarter stood at Rs 67 crore, down 43 per cent, mainly on account of a festive shift and the resultant adverse impact on operating leverage,” the Aditya Birla Group firm said in its earnings statement.
It was also impacted by the scale-up of new businesses such as OWND, a Gen Z-focused value fashion brand and investments in the upscale luxury department store Galeries Lafayette, it added.
ABFRL's revenue from the Pantaloons business stood at Rs 1,139.95 crore, marginally down from Rs 1,141.71 crore of the corresponding quarter a year ago.
However, its revenue from the 'Ethnic and Others' segment increased 5.63 per cent to Rs 918.84 crore in the reported quarter.

Its brands added 35 new stores in Q2, taking total store additions to over 80 in H1 FY27.

Its ethnic wear portfolio includes Jaypore and Tasva, and it has strategic partnerships with India’s top designers, such as Tarun Tahiliani, Sabyasachi, Shantnu & Nikhil and House of Masaba.
