US President Donald Trump announced that his administration will pass the “Dalilah law”, which would prevent states from issuing commercial driving licenses to illegal immigrants.
Trump made the announcement during his State of the Union 2026 speech.
"Many, if not most, illegal aliens do not speak English and cannot read even the most basic road signs," he said in the address
“That's why tonight I'm calling on Congress to pass what we will call the Dalilah law, barring any state from granting commercial driver's licenses to illegal aliens," he added.
The law was named after Dalilah Coleman, a 5-year-old first grader who was severely injured in a car crash caused by an illegal immigrant from India who was driving a semitruck.
