Police in the UK have launched a manhunt to track down a man who is believed to have raped an Indian-origin woman in a confirmed racially aggravated attack.
West Midlands police stated that they were called to the Park Hall area of Walsall on Saturday evening after someone reported a woman in distress on the street. The woman had been attacked ather home by a man she did not know. The man had followed her to the house.
CCTV footage of the suspect, a white man in his 30s with short hair and dark clothing, has been released.
Detective Superintendent Ronan Tyrer, who is overseeing the investigation, said, “This was an absolutely appalling attack on a young woman, and we are doing absolutely everything we can to arrest the person responsible.”

“We have teams of officers recovering evidence and building a profile of the attacker so that he can be brought into custody as soon as possible. While we are following multiple lines of enquiry right now, it’s vital that we get to hear from anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area at the time.”
The police are looking for more information and the whereabouts of the subject. Through divers, dashcam footage, and more CCTV camera footage. “Your information could be the vital breakthrough that we need,” they said.

The Sikh Federation in the UK said that local sources say that the victim was a Punjabi Woman. In a statement, Dabinderjit Singh, Lead executive of the Federation, said, “We can now confirm from local sources that the young woman who was subjected to a racially aggravated rape in Walsall is a Punjabi Woman.”
They also said that the incident follows another racially aggravated rape of a Sikh woman on September 9 in Oldbury.
Ch Supt Phil Dolby, of Walsall Police, said: "Walsall is a diverse area, and we know the fear and concern that this awful attack will cause in our communities."
"We have been speaking to people in the community today to listen to and understand their concerns and there will be an increased policing presence in the coming days," he said.
