US President Donald Trump on Sunday (local time) tried to mock former president Barack Obama at the 250th anniversary celebrations of the US Navy in Virginia, but was met with a tough crowd—literally.

This comes amid a government shutdown from October 1 that has furloughed thousands of federal workers and forced several military personnel to work without pay. "Don’t worry about it. Don’t worry about it. Don’t worry about it. Do not worry about it, it’s all coming,” Trump said about what he called a "Democrat-induced shutdown".
In a viral video of the incident, Trump is seen speaking about former White House doctor Ronny Jackson's past patients, referring to Obama as "Barack Hussein Obama" to try to get a reaction out of the military personnel gathered.
"Have you heard of him?" he asked the crowd, only to be met with radio silence.
An embarrassed Trump quickly moved on, talking about Jackson's other famous patient, George Bush, before claiming that Jackson had agreed that the current US President was "the best physical specimen of the three".
To prove his point, he danced his signature two-step dance to Village People's 'YMCA', which got the crowd roaring.

"The silence wasn’t passive—it was principled. In a space governed by duty, discipline, and constitutional neutrality, service members refused to be cast as political props," a user wrote on X.

"To boo a current or former C-I-C is a violation of the UCMJ," another user pointed out.
They know better than to do that in uniform. My dad served active and reserve in every administration from Truman to Bush 41 and to boo a current or former C-I-C is a violation of the UCMJ.

"The fact they didn't take the bait is encouraging," a third user noted.
In the past these Navy Seamen, who are overwhelmingly White, would have booed on cue when Trump derisively used Obama's entire name to imply he's not like us. The fact they didn't take the bait is encouraging. Maybe the discipline of the military brass during Trump's recent…
