As the conservatives in the US mourn the death of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk, more details of his family are coming out. While Kirk’s wife Erika has already garnered limelight through her emotional and controversial speech, the focus is now on Kirk’s ‘secret sister’ Mary Kirk, who, apparently, doesn’t share her brother’s political views.
Not only did she move away from the Conservative and Republican thinking, 29-year-old Mary also began leaning towards the ideals of progressive Senator Bernie Sanders. The Chicago-based art curator tracks her shift from Republican to Progressive on her Facebook page.
A post from 2015 read: “#Tbt to when I met Bernie a year ago and had no idea who he was and now he is the light of my life,” Mary wrote below a picture showing her shaking hands with Sanders. Mary operates the page under an alias, according to Daily Beast.
She has also shared posts on Sanders and urged her followers to vote in the Illinois primaries.
Mary also champions causes and ideals that are distinct from those of her brothers in her social media handles. She had urged followers to donate to the Whitney Plantation in Louisiana, a nonprofit museum dedicated to slavery education. After Trump took over, his administration cut federal funding to the organisation. “Whitney Plantation is an inspiring example of what slavery education should look like in the US,” she wrote on LinkedIn. “Please support if you can!”

In 2014, Charlie Kirk was with his parents, father Robert (deceased) and mother Kimberly, along with his sister, Mary.

Interestingly, Charlie Kirk was a vocal opponent of “Black-centered education.” She had also sought support to pressure Congress to protect funding for the Institute of Museum and Library Services—another target of the Trump administration, according to The Daily Beast.
Unlike Charlie, Mary has opted to stay out of the limelight. However, her different political views did not clash with those of her brother’s.
Charlie Kirk’s parents are 73-year-old Robert Kirk and 68-year-old mental health counselor Kathryn Kirk.
