Erika Kirk, widow of slain rightwing activist and Donald Trump loyalist Charlie Kirk, in her first public address after the death of her husband, claimed that Charlie had been killed because he preached the message of patriotism, faith and "god's merciful love."
She also had a message for "evildoers" responsible for the assassination of her husband. Erika said they have no idea what they have done.
“They should all know this: if you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea what you just have unleashed across the country and this world,” she said.
She also thanked the law enforcement officers who arrested the suspect in the murder, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.

Erika further said in a world filled with chaos, doubt and uncertainty, her husband’s voice will remain and it will ring out louder and more clearly than ever and his wisdom will endure.
She said her “cries will echo around the world like a battle cry” and added that she will follow one of her husband's mottos—'never surrender'.
Erike called on youngsters to continue her husband's cause and urged them to start Turning Point USA chapters at their schools.
Kirk had launched his organisation, Turning Point USA, in 2012, targeting younger people and venturing onto liberal-leaning college campuses. He took Turning Point from one of a constellation of well-funded conservative groups to the centre of the right-of-centre universe. Turning Point's political wing helped run get-out-the-vote for Trump's 2024 campaign, trying to energise disaffected conservatives who rarely vote.
