U.S. President Donald Trump demanded that pop icon Beyoncé be prosecuted based on a claim that she got paid $11 million for endorsing Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in 2024. No evidence has been found to support the claim.
On a social media post, Trump claimed that Beyoncé broke the law during one of Harris's abortion rights rally events at her home town, Houston, Texas, in October 2024. "I'm looking at the large amount of money owed by the Democrats after the presidential election and the fact that they admit to paying, probably illegally, $11 million to singer Beyoncé for an ENDORSEMENT (she never sang, not one note...)," he said in the post made on Truth Social.
He also accused Harris of paying Oprah Winfrey and civil rights activist Al Sharpton, $3 million and $600,000 each. “Kamala, and all of those that received endorsement money, BROKE THE LAW. They should all be prosecuted! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he said in the post.
The federal campaign spending records show that the expense for Beyoncé’s appearance at the event cost $165,000, which was paid by the Harris campaign to the singer’s production company, according to CNN.

This is not the first time Trump has made such statements. The Harris campaign had already rejected a rumour that it paid the Cowboy Carter singer $10 million for her endorsement last year, according to USA Today.
Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, had also called the $10 million payment a lie last year and said that her daughter did not receive a penny for speaking at the Presidential candidates' rally.
In May, Trump had said they had planned a major investigation into Harris's campaign’s celebrity endorsements. In an interview in February, when asked about the $11 million claim, he only said that “Somebody just showed me something. They gave her $11 million.”
Beyoncé just wrapped up her Cowboy Carter tour, reuniting with her group Destiny’s Child for the last show in Las Vegas.
