"I've done nothing wrong," shouted Gaurav Kundi as an Australian police officer knelt on his neck, similar to the tragic 2020 killing of George Floyd in the United States. The Indian-origin man, 42, suffered severe brain damage and slipped into a coma following the violent incident in Adelaide.
The father-of-two is currently on life support at Royal Adelaid Hospital. Doctors said he suffered severe injuries to his brain and neck nerves

His wife Amritpal Kaur, who watched the brutal act helplessly, recorded the altercation but stopped filming after she panicked when the officer knelt on him. She told 9News that Kundi's head was slammed against the police vehicle and the road during the violent arrest.
Reports revealed that Kundi and Kaur were allegedly having a tiff publicly in easter Adelaide's Payneham Road on Thursday morning. Police who were patrolling the area mistook the incident for domestic violence. Kaur had tried to convince the cops that Kundi was drunk and not violent. In the viral video, Kaur can be heard saying, "Yeah, he hasn't done anything, what the hell. Oh my God! They are doing unfair."
The police, on the other hand, claimed that the man "violently resisted" arrest when the cops intervened.
South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas justified the action of police, saying their jobs were "really difficult" and "deserved" support.
South Australian Police Commissioner Grant Stevens also defended the cops, saying he reviewed the footage from bodycams and believed the police acted according to their training.
An internal investigation has been launched into the incident.
