Where did Elon Musk's 14th child get his name from? The origin of Seldon Lycurgus explained

Billionaire Elon Musk has welcomed his 14th child, Seldon Lycurgus, on March 1. He is the DOGE chief's fourth child with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.

Taking to X, Zilis revealed the child's name in coincidence with the first birthday of Arcadia, the couple's third child.

"Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia's birthday, we felt better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son, Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid hear of gold. Love him so much," she posted. To this, Musk responded with a heart emoji.

The couple's two elder children are twins Strider and Azure. Arcadia's name and gender has been kept under wraps until March 1.

What does Seldon Lycurgus mean?

Elon Musk, a sci-fi fan, apparently picked the first name, Seldon, in honour of the main character of Isaac Asimov's Foundation series, Hari Seldon. The character is a mathematics professor who develops psychohistory, an algorithmic science that help predict the fall of the Galactic Empire.

The second name, Lycurgus, is the name of the ancient Spartan lawgiver responsible for setting up a military-oriented society.

In total, Musk is reportedly father to 14 children. The first six were with his first wife, Justine Wilson. His first-born, Nevada Alexander, passed away at 10 weeks. Later, they opted for IVF and had twins Vivian Jenna Wilson and Griffin as well as triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian.

With Grimes, Musk had three children: X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl and Techno Mechanicus.
