Russian troops capture Orikhovo-Vasylivka settlement in eastern Ukraine: reports

Latest reports state that Russian troops captured the Orikhovo-Vasylivka settlement in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region.

The yet-to-be-verified battlefield account was first reported on Sunday by the state-run Russian news agency TASS citing the Russian Defence Ministry.

On Friday, Agencies also reported that the Ukrainian forces lost more than 320 soldiers in one day in the Kursk Region, according to the Defence Ministry in Moscow.

"Over the day, Ukraine lost more than 320 servicemen, two tanks, and three infantry fighting vehicles," the ministry announced.

This included a "US-made Bradley, four armoured personnel carriers, 13 armoured fighting vehicles, 11 vehicles, six artillery pieces, five mortars, two MLRS launchers (BM-21 Grad and BM-27 Uragan), a German-made Pionierpanzer 2 engineering demolition vehicle, and three UAV control sites", as per the ministry.

On Sunday, the Russian defence ministry also announced that its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 35 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from Ukraine that allegedly encoached Russian regions overnight. 

This included 18 UAVs in Kursk, four each in Oryol and Krasnodar, three each in Voronezh and Rostov, and one each in Bryansk, Tula, and Crimea, stated the ministry.
