Donald Trump has already won the elections but as a cherry on the top now the US president-elect has brought home Arizona, a key battleground state, to the Republican fold.

With Arizona win, Trump now has 11 more electoral votes, taking his total in the Electoral College to 312. This is 42 more than the half-way mark of 270 votes. His Democrat rival and US Vice President Kamala Harris has 226 votes.

In 2016, when Trump won against Hillary Clinton, he bagged 306 votes, making his latest victory even more remarkable.

There are seven swing states and with a victory in Arizona, Trump has bagged all of them to seal his presidency.

Besides Arizona, the swing states or battleground states include Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. In 2020, he had lost all these states except North Carolina.

The victory in Arizona also reflects the support for Trump among Hispanic voters as well as among the conservatives. He campaigned by emphasising on issues like border security and economy to target the Biden administration and rival Harris.
