An amateur Australian gold-digger hit jackpot when he found a nugget weighing 4.6 kg. It contains gold worth approximately $160,000. The rock was found in Victoria, which is famous for gold. The digger was armed with a budget metal detector.

The man, who doesn't want to be named, made the discovery in Victoria's goldfields - which were the heart of Australia's gold rush in the 1800s, BBC reported. "I was just gobsmacked... It's a once-in-a-lifetime find," he said.

Prospector Darren Kamp Darren Kamp told NCA NewsWire that the specimen was the biggest he saw in his 43-year career.

He said, "He pulled this rock out of his backpack and as he dropped it in my hand he said, 'Do you think there's $10,000 worth in it?" to this Kamp replied, “Try $100,000.” Normally people come in with fool's gold or other rocks that look like gold, Mr Kamp says. Kamp bought the nugget from the gold digger and named it 'Lucky Strike'.
