Prince Charles of the United Kingdom allegedly received a suitcase containing one million euros ($1 million) for his charity from Qatar prime minister Sheik Hamad bin Jassim, the Sunday Times reported. The amount was one of three payments the prince received between 2011 and 2015 totalling about three million euros ($3.2m).

"Charitable donations received from Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim were passed immediately to one of the Prince's charities who carried out the appropriate governance and have assured us that all the correct processes were followed," Clarence House told CNN in a statement.

Reportedly, one such payments was dropped off at the prince's office in Clarence House. There haven't been any reports that the payments were illegal. The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund, an organisation set up in 1979 supports multiple causes related to healthcare, education and the environment.

“Our auditors signed off on the donation after a specific enquiry during the audit. There was no failure of governance,” Clarence House told the Times.
