A new book on Donald Trump written by his niece Mary Trump, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man, sold nearly a million copies on the first day it went on sale in the US, its publisher Simon and Schuster said Thursday.

The 950,000 copies sold Tuesday, including pre-orders as well as audio and digital versions, “is a company record” the publishing house, said in a statement.

They have ordered more copies printed, which will bring the number to 1.15 million for the American market alone, an AFP report reads.

“He is not going to get better and he is without question going to get worse," Mary, a psychologist and author of the book said in an interview to CNN. She added that "Donald is a psychologically deeply damaged man, based on his upbringing and the situation with his parents," indicating that his governing style can be traced back to his childhood.

Mary also said that her uncle isn’t anti-science, but, will ignore facts and spin a narrative preferential to him.

The president, after being silent about his niece for weeks, called her "a mess" and alleged that she wrote "untruthful things."

In the book, Mary wrote that the president is a product of an absent mother and a sociopathic father

The book released on July 14, a week sooner than it was slated for release. Before this, Donald Trump’s brother Fred Trump moved the court to prevent the book from releasing by saying that it violated a confidentiality agreement related to Fred Trump's estate. But a New York judge ultimately allowed its release.
