IPL auction, Day 2: RR buy Jaydev Unadkat for 11.5 crore

The second day of the IPL auction started with each team having less than 25 crore remaining in their purse. Jaydev Unadkat, who played for Rising Pune Supergiants last year, went to Rajasthan Royals for a whopping Rs 11.5 crore.

Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings were in an intense bidding war for young Unadkat, but it was ultimately the Royals who acquired him.

On day two, the first set of players up for auction was the uncapped spinners with Gowtham Krishnappa being sold to RR for Rs 6.2 crore.

Mumbai Indians made a string of purchases by going for Rahul Chahar, Evin Lewis, Ben Cutting and Saurabh Tiwary Rs 1.9 crore, Rs 3.8 crore, Rs 2.2 crore and Rs 80 lakh each.

Delhi Daredevils acquired spinner Shahbaz Nadeem for Rs 3.2 crore. They also bought New Zealand's Trent Boult for Rs 2.2 crore, Australian Daniel Christian for Rs 1.5 crore, Gurkeerat Mann for 75 lakh and Jayant Yadav for 50 lakh.

Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Mandeep Singh for Rs 1.4 crore, former Rising Pune Supergiants player Murugan Ashwin for Rs 2.2 crore and Washington Sundar for 3.2 crore. They used RTM to retain Pawan Negi for Rs 1 crore.

Many players including K.C. Cariappa, England's Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan, South Africa's Dale Steyn and Colin Ingram and Australia's Shaun Marsh, Moises Henriques and Travis Head went unsold during this session.
