Injuries have been the bane for Kerala Blasters in this season of the Indian Super League. Adding to the list will be Mark Sifneos, the 21-year-old star striker from the Netherlands, who is set to part ways with the club citing injury, according to sources.
Kerala Blasters tweeted: "Kerala Blasters and Mark Sifneos have mutually agreed to part ways. We are grateful for all his contributions to the club. The club would also like to wish him well for the future."
The half-Dutch and half-Greek footballer opened the club's account in the match against Mumbai City FC on December 3, and went on to score three more goals.
The team co-owned by Sachin Tendulkar has already been plagued with injuries this season, with Bulgarian international and Manchester United Dimitar Berbatov, defender Rino Anto and Ugandan sensational midfielder Kizito Keziron unable to take the field.
Sifneos left RKC Waalwijk to join the Blasters. The team's former coach Rene Meulensteen, also from the Netherlands, was one of the main reasons for Sifneos to come to Kerala. Muelensteen was replaced midway through the tournament by Englishman David James following a string of poor results.

There are reports that the Blasters might also be considering dropping Berbatov in the January transfer window.

Last year's runners-up, the Blasters are in the seventh position on the points table, with just three wins in 12 matches.
