After being linked to Racing Santander's Jorge Salinas, it is said that Manchester United are also tracking Club Brugge full-back Joaquin Seys as the hunt for a left-back continues. The 21-year-old was part of Belgium's FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign and has reportedly impressed the decision-makers at Old Trafford.
With an estimated market value of £30 million, Seys is significantly cheaper when compared to Lewis Hall and Myles Lewis-Skelly — the other two full-backs being linked to United. The Club Brugge academy graduate is contracted until 2029 and is also linked to Aston Villa and PSG, as per Transfermarkt. However, his club is not desperate to sell him, and it is not clear if the Premier League side has opened talks officially.
The 5 ft 10 in Belgian is also comfortable on the right side of defence and managed impressive defensive-duel numbers this past season. The two-time champion of Belgium has made 97 appearances (7 goals, 8 assists) for his club already and is ranked among the top young defenders to watch.
Seys is noted for his willingness to carry the ball forward from deep. He can occupy spaces on the pitch and push forward intelligently instead of looking for a safety pass when pressed. His capability to keep a cool head and his technical skills have been crucial for Club Brugge's possession game, reports said.
While he is not a full-back who rushes ahead with the ball every time in the hope of providing a cross or cutting inside, the youngster can make overlapping runs; scouting reports have also noted considerable improvement in his aerial game and positional awareness.
Seys, however, may not be as cheap as Jorge Salinas, a Racing academy graduate. The left-footed Spaniard is known for his agility, balance, ball progression, and pace. His crossing capability and passing range were found impressive by scouts, who have also praised his readiness to take calculated risks — mainly underlapping runs into central areas and taking the ball directly to the byline.
Manchester United cannot confidently begin another campaign without another left-back in the squad. Luke Shaw's fitness has always been a concern, and their return to the European circuit is only going to make the season even more packed.
