Chelsea have a history of getting rid of players who fail to make a quick impression upon their arrival. A second-season turnaround could be too much to ask for at Stamford Bridge, as those finding it hard to find their footing upon arrival could quickly receive the "flop" branding and be shipped off. The story has not been different for João Félix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Renato Veiga.
According to reports, striker Liam Delap is heading down the same path. The former Ipswich Town star is unlikely to be given a second season at Chelsea, as talks of finding bidders for the youngster have begun. The London side is reportedly not even willing to loan out Delap, nor do they consider him an asset for the future.
An injury-ravaged season, combined with João Pedro's scintillating form, resulted in Delap scoring just once in the Premier League. If he is to be sent on loan in the summer, an "obligation to buy" option is likely to be attached to the deal, CaughtOffside said in a report.
Who will buy Liam Delap?
While no club, either within or outside the Premier League, has officially discussed terms with Chelsea yet, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Everton, Brighton, and Sunderland are said to be interested in the striker, CaughtOffside said. Nick Woltemade is unsettled at Newcastle and is dreaming of joining Bayern Munich back home. Manchester United, meanwhile, are often troubled by the misfiring Joshua Zirkzee and Benjamin Šeško, and may buy the Englishman in light of his age. Zirkzee is likely to press for a move back to Italy, which would open a slot in the club's attacking department.

United highly rate Delap and believe they are in a really good position to ensure he can be signed, CaughtOffside said. However, the report stopped short of mentioning what price tag will be hung around the striker's neck by the former Premier League champions.
