Netflix is expanding its British drama lineup with new seasons of some of its most popular shows. On August 24, 2026, the streaming service officially renewed "The Gentlemen" for a third season. The announcement accompanied the main trailer for Season 2. It has also confirmed new seasons of "House of Guinness", "Legends", and "Black Doves".
'The Gentlemen' returns for Season 3
Season 2 of "The Gentlemen" arrives on September 3, 2026, with Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James, and Susie Glass, played by Kaya Scodelario, taking their criminal business to a much larger stage.
After protecting their local estate and building a marijuana operation in Britain, Eddie and Susie now set their sights on Italy. Their expansion into the country's lakeside villas brings them into direct conflict with the Italian mafia and powerful crime boss Marco Moretti.
Creator Guy Ritchie has suggested that the story has grown so quickly that a third season was almost unavoidable. Netflix has ordered eight episodes, with pre-production already underway.
There has also been considerable online speculation that Meghan Markle could join the cast. However, Variety has reported that no casting decisions have been finalised and that the scripts are not yet locked.
'House of Guinness' gets another season
Steven Knight, the creator of "Peaky Blinders", is also returning with another chapter of "House of Guinness", his lavish historical drama about the famous brewing family.
Season 1 ended with the sound of a pistol shot, leaving viewers wondering who had been hit. Knight has confirmed that Season 2 will directly address that mystery.
The new season will continue following the four Guinness siblings: Arthur, Edward, Anne and Benjamin. As they grow older, they face the pressure of expanding the family brewery while dealing with betrayal, family conflict and forbidden love.
Knight has ambitious plans for the series. He hopes to follow the Guinness dynasty across several generations, eventually taking the story into the 1960s. Filming for Season 2 is scheduled to begin in January 2027 in the UK and Ireland.
'Legends' heads back undercover
Neil Forsyth's customs thriller "Legends" has also been renewed for a six-episode second season. The first season became a major global success and earned a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The new episodes will move further into the late 1990s, when Britain is facing a growing and unprecedented drug threat. A group of ordinary Customs employees will once again be pulled far beyond their normal jobs and into a dangerous international undercover operation.
Tom Burke will return as Guy, the customs officer working deep undercover, while Steve Coogan will reprise his role as Don, the man responsible for creating and managing the agents' false identities. Production is expected to begin in 2027 through Tannadice Pictures and Lion Television.
'Black Doves' Season 2 wraps production
Meanwhile, Netflix has completed filming on Season 2 of "Black Doves". The 20-week production took place in London and wrapped in February 2026. The new season is expected to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027.
Created by Joe Barton, the series will take a darker direction this time. Helen Webb, played by Keira Knightley, continues to trade government secrets for the Black Doves. Her husband, Wallace Webb, is preparing to become Prime Minister, putting Helen dangerously close to the centre of British political power.
Former assassin Sam Young, played by Ben Whishaw, now leads a lonely life in Soho, taking low-level jobs until Helen brings him back into a major conspiracy. At the same time, Black Doves handler Mrs Reed, played by Sarah Lancashire, faces a ruthless internal effort to weaken her position.
With four major dramas moving into new chapters, Netflix is clearly betting heavily on ambitious British crime, historical and political stories. The coming months should reveal whether these returning series can build on their earlier success.
