Real Madrid have reached a complete agreement with Nico Paz on personal terms, noted football transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has claimed.
"I expect Nico Paz to go to Real Madrid in 2026—not in January, but in the summer," Romano reportedly said on his YouTube channel.
The Argentine midfielder is in great form for Como 1907 in Serie A and was always interested in a move back to the Spanish capital. An academy product of Real Madrid, 21-year-old Paz—who played in the UEFA Champions League in the white shirt before making a €6 million switch—has six goals and six assists to his credit this season for the Cesc Fàbregas-managed team. He was named Serie A’s Best Debutant and was included in the Team of the Season on FC25. He joined Como on a permanent deal last year after spending eight years with Los Blancos.
The Argentine, who started as a defender in the Madrid academy, later started operating on the wings before settling down in midfield. Nico Paz was used as a substitute for Fede Valverde by Real in a Champions League game before being trusted to replace Dani Carvajal on the right side of the defence during a league clash. In all, he managed eight appearances for the club (four in La Liga) before being sold to the Italian side.

Xabi Alonso reportedly rates the left-footed South American highly, which initially led Real Madrid's management to consider triggering the €9 million buy-back clause. His current contract runs out in 2028, but Real's plan is to add him to their midfield-attacking pool in the coming summer, reports indicate.
