Jasprit Bumrah is having a bizarre end to 2025. The pace missed a large part of the year due to the injury that he sustained in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. After a lengthy hiatus, Bumrah is back in the mix but the results right from the Asia Cup have been a mixed bag.

On Thursday (December 11), Bumrah ended with figures of 0-45 in his four overs during the second T20I against South Africa in Mullanpur. It is his joint second-most expensive spell in T20Is, with the previous instance also coming in this year itself. That happened during the Super Fours encounter against Pakistan in Dubai.

In Mullanpur, Bumrah got hammered for four sixes, a first for the 32-year-old in his international T20 career. Meanwhile, India's other specialist seamer Arshdeep Singh also get belted around as he leaked 54 off his four overs - his second-most expensive spell in T20Is. India ended up conceding 49 runs off the last 18 balls with Donovan Ferreira and David Miller going berserk at the death.

India also conceded 16 wides in the innings - joint second-most by them in a T20I innings as things went awry in the second half of the innings. Except for Varun Chakaravarthy (4-0-29-2), all the Indian bowlers got carted around with Bumrah's rusty spell being another unwanted chapter to his comeback story.
