Even at the age of 38, Rohit Sharma can't help breaking records and setting up major milestones. During the first match of the ongoing three-match series against South Africa in Ranchi, Rohit became the highest six-hitter in ODI cricket by overtaking Shahid Afridi's long-standing record in the format.
Unreal consistency at the age of 38 by Rohit sharma. He is in total control.

A few weeks before the Ranchi ODI, Rohit had scaled the no.1 batting ranking in ODIs for the first time in his distinguished career. For an elite batter like him, it was a surprise how Rohit never achieved this landmark all these years. Nevertheless, he eventually got there. On Saturday (December 6), during the series decider against South Africa in Vizag, Rohit got to another massive milestone.
Rohit became only the fourth Indian batter to go past 20000 international runs in men's cricket, joining the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid in this legendary club. It was another landmark moment for the former Indian captain who has reinvented his gameplay in recent years without really compromising on his success.
However, India's powerplay score of 48/0 in the first ten overs in Vizag was their lowest wicketless score during this phase since January 2023. It must be noted that there wasn't a lot of risk required with the target being just 271 on a flat batting surface. Regardless, the score did come as a surprise, given Rohit's powerplay antics in the last two years.
