Smriti Mandhana has been the most trending cricketer in the last month but unfortunately, it has been for the wrong reasons. The World Cup-winner was slated to marry her long-time boyfriend and musician-film maker Palash Muchhal on November 23 at her hometown in Sangli. However, due to Smriti's father falling ill, the wedding had to be postponed and since then, all hell has broken loose on the internet.
The wedding was indefinitely postponed but soon, more theories emerged regarding the reason for the wedding's postponement. Reddit started a thread which had some explosive revelations about Muchhal having other affairs while being in relationship with Mandhana. With more women speaking out through chat screenshots, Muchhal got further into the mud.
The latest reports across social media is that a new wedding date has been finalised - December 7. Many twitter influencers and regional publications have put up this info but is this true? The answer is a resounding NO! According to Hindustan Times, Smriti's brother Shravan has strongly denied this news.
"I have no idea about these rumours," he said
"As of now it (the wedding) is still postponed."
Last week, Mandhana and Muchhal had both updated their bios on Instagram with identical emojis, fueling further speculations about the status of their relationship and impending marriage. After a long hiatus, Palash was spotted at an airport on Monday (December 1) with his mother Amita, but neither of them spoke to the media, opting instead to walk away in silence.
