Fans of Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru can heave a sigh of relief as the weather seems to have cleared in Kolkata, as the two sides will clash in the opening match of the IPL 2025 at the Eden Gardens later tonight.
There was a drizzle earlier in the day, but the skies cleared up by evening. Our sources at Eden Gardens said that the opening ceremony and the match are likely to start on time and proceed as scheduled. The match is set to start at 7.30pm, with the toss at 7pm.

A star-studded opening ceremony featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Shreya Ghoshal, Karan Aujla, Disha Patani and others is scheduled at 6pm.
Last evening, the open practice sessions of both the teams, which started at around 5pm had to be stopped within an hour because of a steady drizzle. Since the Eden Gardens has full ground covers, the playing surface was not affected.
