Putting to rest all speculations on social media over Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra being in a relationship, the 22-year-old shooter’s father said that she is still too young to marry.
Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra were seen talking to each other on the sidelines of the Paris Olympics, and her mother Sumedha, too, was seen engaging in an animated conversation with Chopra. The videos had sparked off jokes and memes on social media, with netizens saying that Manu Bhaker’s mother had found a match for her daughter, and some expressing hope that the star athletes date each other.
Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, her father Ram Kishan said, “Manu is still very young. We are not thinking about her marriage now.” He emphasised that the family’s focus is on Manu Bhaker’s career.
Ram Kishan also said that his wife considers Neeraj Chopra as her son, and hence the bonding seen in the viral video.

Chopra’s uncle, while talking to the same news outlet, said that the public will be informed of every important event in his life, including his marriage, just like his sporting achievements.
Both Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra hail from Haryana. While she became the first athlete to win two medals at the same Olympics for independent India, Chopra followed up his historic gold in javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics four years ago, with a silver at the Paris Olympics.
