Premier League giants Manchester United have completed its first signing of the INEOS era by signing  14-year-old wonderkid Silva Mexes. The young striker, reportedly a 100m sprint champion at Under-13 level in Essex,   arrives at Old Trafford from Ipswich Town.

The Welsh teenager, is the son of great Robert Earnshaw, who is the only man to have scored a hat-trick in the Premier League, all three divisions of the English Football League, the FA Cup, League Cup and internationally for Wales to this date.

Confirming the development, Silva wrote on Instagram on Thursday, "Very proud moment for me and my family to announce my signing for @manchesterunited. Thank you for everyone who has helped me on my journey so far. The work starts now." He posted photos of him holding the number seven shirt of the club.

According to reports, Silva Mexes is a long way from his senior team debut. He will be part of the youth system at Old Trafford and is likely to partner Kai Rooney in the Red Devils' U-14 side, Goal.com said in a report. Kai is the son of England great and club legend Wayne Rooney.

INEOS is likely to continue recruiting young prodigies to develop a pool of talent for the years to come. Port Vale talent Baylee Dipepa could be the next on the minority stakeholders list, English sports media reports claimed. The 17-year-old striker, who has hit three goals and two assists in the League One game, is a prime target for United. The club is well on course to sign the English teen beating all other competitions.
