Senior right-back Dani Carvajal has suffered a leg injury, Real Madrid confirmed in a statement on Monday. However, the La Liga giants didn't elaborate on how long Carvajal will have to stay out.
"After the tests carried out on our player Dani Carvajal by the Medical Services of Real Madrid, an injury to the soleus muscle in his left leg has been diagnosed," the club statement said.
It was during the La Liga leaders's contest against Granada on Saturday that Carvajal suffered a calf injury. Meanwhile, multiple Spanish reports said Carlo Ancelotti will miss Carvajal's service at least for a couple of weeks. They added that Real Madrid will not try to rush the 31-year-old right-back back into service as muscle injuries can become problematic if not properly healed.
Lucas Vazquez is expected to start in Carvajal's position with captain Nacho Fernandez to back him whenever needed.
The Los Blancos are currently missing as many as eight of their players due to injuries. The list includes the likes of Eder Militao and Vinicius Jr.
