Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday confirmed both goalkeeper Alisson Becker and attacker Diogo Jota are facing spells on the sidelines due to injuries. Jota will take longer time than Alisson to recover, the gaffer said.

On Saturday, Alisson struggled to complete the 1-1 draw against Manchester City after appearing to pick up a hamstring injury late on.

"With Ali (Alisson), it’s a bit lesser, so we have to see – not day by day, he will not play tomorrow, not on Sunday, probably not the week after," the Premier League-winning coach told the press.

Confirming that the Brazilian's injury was not as bad as initially feared, Klopp said, “No, but bad enough. Bad enough.”

Klopp added that Caoimhin Kelleher would take Alisson's place in goal

"Diogo will take a little bit longer, we don’t know exactly how long, but it’s a bit more severe. We have to see," Klopp said about the Portuguese winger's status.
