The Netherlands won the toss and send Sri Lanka to field in their ODI World Cup match at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday.
The Dutch hope to repeat their win against South Africa as they clash with Lankans, who are at the bottom of the points table. However, Sri Lanka has defeated the Netherlands in all the ODIs they played.
Dutch skipper Scott Edwards said, “We are going to have a bat first. The pitch looks pretty good, hopefully put a score on and look to defend it.”
The pitch at Lucknow's Ekana Cricket Stadium, officially known as Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, has only witnessed five ODI matches, including the previous game between South Africa vs Australia. The slow pitch prepared with black soil generally favours bowlers, especially spinners and pacers.
