Kerala Blasters were handed the first defeat of the Indian Super League (ISL) season on Sunday after they went down 2-1 to Mumbai City FC. Former Blasters man Jorge Pereyra Diaz scored the first goal of the game four minutes into first-half extra time before the Kochi side equalised through Danish Farooq in the 57th minute of the game.

However, the relief was short-lived as Mumbai  City FC managed to restore their lead through Lalengmawia Ralte in the 66th minute. The game had over 15 minutes of injury time but Kerala Blasters failed to find a second goal. 

Yoell van Nieff and Milos Drincic of Mumbai City and Blasters respectively were sent off at a remarkable 105 minute of the match.

The result leave Mumbai City FC second in the league with 7 points from 3 games while the KBFC slipped to fourth with 6 points from 3 matches.
