JLN Stadium in Kochi to be one of the venues for ISL 2022-23

The inaugural match of the season is likely to be in Kochi

The Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi will be one of the venues for the upcoming season which starts in October 2022 till March 2023. The stadium, which is also the home ground of Kerala Blasters FC, will witness 10 matches in the season. The inaugural match most likely will be in Kochi. The Kerala Blasters team will start their training in Kochi in August.

GCDA assured that they will continue to provide full support and cooperation to Kerala Blasters going forward.

GCDA will introduce initiatives to make the stadium more attractive. Their plan to introduce multi-level parking is also in the pipeline. GCDA will also provide space to Kerala Blasters for opening Kerala’s first Football Museum, which will be managed by the club.

Taking into consideration the massive support from the fans and the massive turnout of the fans who participated in live streaming, Kerala Blasters along with GCDA is preparing to welcome more fans in the upcoming season.

The discussion was held in the presence of the GCDA chairman K. Chandran Pillai and KBFC director Nikhil Bhardwaj.

“Our collective vision is to work towards a long-term relationship between GCDA and Kerala Blasters for the betterment of the football ecosystem in Kochi. I have no doubts that football in Kochi will flourish and make great leaps with the support of our respected GCDA chairman. We thank them for their support and thoroughly look forward to receiving all our fans back at the Kaloor,” Bhardwaj said.

“Witnessing the enthusiasm, support and excitement of the football fans in Kerala, we aspire to make the stadium greater! We intend to keep our collaboration with Kerala Blasters stronger going forward. The amenities and facilities that are added to the stadium will benefit the development of football field in Kerala,” Pillai said.
