The world's heaviest Test cricketer, Rahkeem Cornwall, did on Thursday what Indian ace spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja could not do in the past two years.

In the one-off Test in Lucknow, the West Indian off-spinner picked up a 10-wicket haul against Afghanistan. He had taken 7/75 in the first innings, and scalped 3/41 in the second innings so far. With this, he became the first spinner since Australia's Steve O'Keefe to pick up 10 wickets in a Test match in India. O'Keefe had picked up 12/70 in the Test in Pune in February 2017.

India's spin duo last took a 10-wicket haul in 2016, against England. In the recently concluded two-Test series against Bangladesh, Jadeja went wicketless and Ashwin managed three, as the Indian pace-trio of Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav made a killing.

Cornwall also became the first Indian West Indian spinner to take 10 wickets in a Test match in the subcontinent.

Afghanistan were batting on 109/7 at stumps on day 2, with a slender lead of 19 runs. West Indies scored 277 in their first innings after bowling out Afghanistan for 187.

Towering at 6'6” and weighing 140kg, Cornwall picked up a career-best 7/75 to help West Indies bowl out Afghanistan for a paltry 187 on the opening day on Wednesday.

Cornwall spun a web around the Afghanistan batsmen on a turning track to dismiss them in 68.3 overs after West Indies won the toss and opted to field.
