Former India captain Rahul Dravid, who was at the La Liga game between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, said watching Lionel Messi play live is fantastic and was honoured to witness the talismanic footballer at Camp Nou.
Barcelona inched closer to the La Liga title as they defeated Atletico Madrid 2-0 on Sunday Night at Camp Nou with a goal each from Luis Suarez and Messi.
After the match, Dravid spoke to the media and said it was incredible to watch the game live. “It's a huge honour, it's one of the things I've always wanted to do―to come to Camp Nou and watch a football match. To be here and experience the atmosphere is absolutely electric.”
The Indian cricketer, who is also the brand ambassador of Indian Super League champions Bengaluru FC, was presented with a customised FC Barcelona jersey by club President Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Dravid heaped much praised on the five-time Ballon d'Or winner and said it was incredible to watch Messi play.
“He's an absolute genius and it's incredible to see what he does. It's fantastic to see what he does with the ball but it's incredible to see him without the ball and be able to find spaces. I don't think there's been a better player than him ever and it's fantastic to watch him play.”
Barcelona is currently on top of the La Liga table with 73 points from 31 matches and are clear favourites to win the title.
