Now, email IDs through multiple Indian languages

  • BSNL announces free email service in 8 Indian languages, in partnership with DataMail

Public sector telecom provider, BSNL has tied up with DataMail to provide free local language email ids to its customers in Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi. Eventually the email service will be offered in 22 Indian languages.

The mails will have the domain extension of @DataOne.Bharat.

The Made-in-India ‘DataMail’ App also allows creating email ids in English, Arabic, Russian and Chinese. Touted as the "World’s first free linguistic email address service" DataMail is accessible through all popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari, Netscape, Safari, Flox etc.

Beyond, BSNL, DataMail services are free for everyone through the simple Mobile app download on IOS and Android phone and anyone can go on their play store and download DATAMAIL and gets their first email address in their preferred language i.e Internationalised Email Address.

Says Ajay Data, Founder and CEO Data XGen Technologies: “Without touching non-English speaking population which counts 89% of total population in India, Digital India has no meaning. Government and private sectors should work together to bring user-friendly digital technology to semi-urban and rural India for fulfilling the PM’s vision of Digital India.”

DataMail estimates that more than 100 million people in India do not use smart phones but access internet through Cyber Café or public internet. The need to have access of linguistic email address through Web is must to enable everyone and bring them online and empower them to use the power of Internet with full potential.

Among the most spoken languages in India in 2016, are Hindi (544.39m), Bengali (107.60m), Telugu (95.40m), Marathi (92.74m), Tamil (78.41m), Urdu (66.47m), Gujarati (59.44m), Kannada (48.96m), Punjabi (37.55m), Assamese (16.98m).
