Ratan Tata says he doesn't know anything about “breaking the internet”. However, the illustrious industrialist has made waves on social media after he announced his debut on Instagram on Wednesday.
Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, said on Twitter that he was so exited to join Instagram. The 81-year-old industrialist has 7.7 million followers on Twitter.
“I don’t know about breaking the internet, but I am so excited to join all of you on Instagram! After a long absence from public life, I look forward to exchanging stories and creating something special with such a diverse community," Tata said.
At the time of filing this report, Tata has already got over 89,000 followers on Instagram. He, however, has not yet followed anybody.
“I made it to the Gram!,” read the cheeky bio of of his account.
It remains to be seen whether Tata's debut on Instagram would prompt other Indian corporate leaders, most of whom prefer Twitter to express their views, to follow the suit.
Owned by Facebook Inc, Instagram is a photo and video-sharing social networking service.
