Microsoft, on October 2 announced its long-awaited Surface Neo with two screens. Using the thinnest possible LCD screen, the Android device comes with two nine-inch displays.

At the annual Surface launch event in New York, a dual-display phone was launched too. Other products that were launched included the Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro X and Surface Pro 7 tablets, Surface Earbuds and the SQ1 custom Arm chip.

The gadget has 360-degree hinges attached with more than 60 micro coaxial cables, thinner than human hair running between the hinges. Microsoft Program Manager for Experiences and Devices Carmen Zalteff says the goal was to fuel a new era of mobile productivity and creativity across two screens.

A magnetic keyboard can be attached to one of the screens, should you feel the need to use one. Another accessory customers can buy is the active pen, that can be used for drawing or taking notes on the Surface Neo.

Folding screens might have been off to a rocky start with phones, but dual-screen laptops and tablets seem to be enticing buyers who end up holding on to the purchases for a longer time. The Neo might be available for purchase only next year.
