A Kerala man won $1 million in the latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw on Wednesday at Dubai International Airport, according to reports. He will share the prize with nine of his colleagues who shared the ticket cost.
Prasad Sivadasan, 45, is a Dubai-based system engineer with the firm Seven Seas Technologies. He bought the ticket online (3793) on February 19, according to Gulf News. They have been participating in the draw for the last eight years, alternating the name on the ticket for each series whenever they purchase.
"I’m very thankful to Dubai Duty Free. We are so happy with this news," he was quoted by Gulf News. Interestingly, Sivadasan is not the first but 246th Indian to win $1 million in the Millennium Millionaire promotion since 1999.
Besides Sadasivan, another Indian won a luxury car from the draw. Shahul Hameed, 38, won a BMW M850i Gran Coupe (Tanzanite Blue Metallic) car with ticket number 985 in the Finest Surprise Series 1911. Hameed, who is based in Abu Dhabi, purchased the ticket on February 3.
He works as an IT manager for a semi-government company and claims to be a regular participant in Dubai Duty Free's promotion for more than 10 years now, Hameed works as an IT manager for a semi-government company. "Indeed, dreams do come true! I’ve been trying my luck for the last 10 years and now I finally won the car!" he told reporters.
Another Indian was the winner of the Indian Scout Bobber Limited Plus Tech (Black Smoke) motorbike with ticket number 175. He purchased the ticket in Concourse B on February 9.
An Iranian too won a luxury car in the draw.
