After the emergence of an audio clip purported to have been made by the assailants in the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, Salman Khan has reportedly increased his security measures.
Police personnel wearing bulletproof vests were spotted outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai.
A deployment of police officers and vehicles was also seen around the area,
Salman Khan had been subject to threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for decades.
After Shroff escaped the shooting attempt, an audio clip from a man identifying himself as 'Anil Pandit Anmol Bishnoi' claimed responsibility for the attack. He said that his elder brother Armaan Sandhu was involved in the plot.
"We explained it to him, but he didn't understand ... Anyone in the entire film industry who works separately from us or works with Salman Khan, we will kill them. And this is the first and last warning," he declared in the note.
The dispute between the actor and the gang began in 1998 with the blackbuck poaching case. Lawrence Bishnoi has repeatedly threatened the actor over the years, citing the animal's religious significance to the Bishnoi community.
About three months earlier, the Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for opening fire outside a gym owned by Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa.
The attack on Tiger Shroff was initiated due to the actor's closeness with Salman Khan. Other actors who were also targeted and attacked for the same reason include Kapil Sharma, Guru Randhawa, and Rohit Shetty
The attacks against persons close to the actor intensified in 2024.
Former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique was shot dead in October 2024. The gang claimed responsibility and said that it was a warning to those helping the actor. The shooter in the case, Anomol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, was deported from the US in November 2025 and arrested.
The three accused in the Tiger Shroff shooting were arrested on Monday morning. They were identified as Rehan, son of Rishiuddin Ansari, 18 years old, and Hrithik Kumar alias Roshan, father Ramu Mahato, age 22 years. The third accomplice is a minor.
The accused fired seven rounds at Shroff, who was travelling by car. The actor escaped without gunshot injuries and only sustained minor abrasions due to shattered glass. His driver, Firdaus, however, sustained a bullet injury in his left hand. A passer-by was also injured in the incident.
