The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday cleared CM Rekha Gupta of issues after it had earlier flagged her name in a list of discrepancies amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Delhi.
Former Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal—and some of his family members—as well as Delhi minister Parvesh Sahib Singh were other high-profile political faces flagged under this list.
It explained that after the issue with her enumeration form, the CM's voter entry was subsequently verified through field verification and scrutiny of the facts and documents provided by her.
Notably, Gupta’s voter entry had been flagged over an “age gap of less than 15 years between a parent and progeny”, as per a Hindu report, after which a Booth Level Officer (BLO) validated her documents.
After validation, it is all set to be included in the final electoral roll for Assembly Constituency 14 (Shalimar Bagh), scheduled to be published on November 4, 2026.
This comes after the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer on Saturday released booth-wise details of 33.1 lakh electors who had been marked for verification in the draft electoral roll—around one-third of the total 97.5 lakh electors included in the draft roll.
The Kejriwals—Arvind Kejriwal, his parents Gobind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi, wife Sunita Kejriwal, and son Pulkit Kejriwal—however, were placed in the “no mapping” category.
People are placed under this category when a proper link cannot be established between their records and the previous SIR roll, during enumeration.
As a result, they will have to again establish their eligibility through documents from the 12 categories specified by the EC.
Similarly, Parvesh Sahib Singh’s record has been flagged for a “self name mismatch” between the current and previous SIR rolls.
